Love this, thank you for sharing. Any glimpse of blue sky between the endless grey and fog have been my sparks of joy this past six weeks!

Same! I blocked out how dark and dull winters are here, very similar to Seattle.

Thanks for sharing, these are definitely heavy times. Listening to a guided mediation and a good novel on audible always helps bring me balance and cooking brings me joy.

I love a good guided meditation or audiobook! What's your favorite thing to listen to lately?

Love the "unexpected vibrant sunset" one. I have written "unexpected blue skies" into my journal many times over the past weeks. It's a reminder that often, when I think something isn't going to turn out as well, it might change!

That's such a good way to put it! The unexpected joy when something works out and you get a little beauty out of it.

Winter feels especially long this year in Paris (and in Lyon!). I already noticed—and endured—when I was living in the Netherlands how the lack of light and the cold had a strong negative impact on my mood. This French winter has been tough as well. I have the same ritual as you! Plus, I take vitamin D to give my mood a little boost. Let’s wait for the spring sun!

Yes! Good reminder for some vitamin D, I need to dig it out from the back of the cabinet. When I lived in Seattle, I never felt the effects of the dark weather (or at least that I noticed). But, I'm really feeling it this year. You're in Lyon?

Yes I live in Lyon and work here and in Paris. This year, winter is loooong in both!

I love this, especially as a way to help our brains notice the good things. My list usually features food, coffee, silence, and funny moments with my son. Yesterday he made me a “taco” and, as he handed it to me said, “Here’s your food, hunny!” I nearly died 😂

Haha! That's the most adorable thing. I love it when they get to an age where their play catches you off guard. And yes, food, coffee, silence is always at the top of the list. Sometimes I feel pressure to mix it up a bit! 😂
